Hello friends, receive a warm greeting. Today I want to share the great variety of fruits that we Cumana consume and we can find fresh in the markets, of course, that I can not name all, but the most common.
I'll start with the fruits of seasons, first the MANGO, rich in vitamin C, consumed both ripe and green, the latter in juice, jellies, sweets, and cut into pieces with salt.
CIRUELA, also rich in vitamin C, are dark red with a yellow flesh and a slightly acidic sweet taste.
Among the fruits that do not lack in the markets we have the PATILLA or SANDÍA, possessor of great amount of water, reason why it is excellent diurético, moisturizing. It is consumed in pieces and in shakes. Ideal for hot times like here in Cumaná
PIÑA, they sell it whole and sliced, with a spectacular flavor and aroma, we also use it in smoothies, sweets, etc.
The LECHOSA, I love the red one, this fruit favors the digestion since it has an enzyme called papain. We use it to make juices and greens to prepare sweets, it is a rich dessert from the east of the country.
The mature CAMBUR, rich in potassium, very appetizing. They are consumed raw, in shakes, salads, etc.
The DURAZNO, is not grown in Cumaná, but in an area with temperate climates, it is consumed as is the fruit and also in juices and syrup.
ORANGE and MANDARIN both belong to citrus fruits, with a high content of vitamin C, the mandarin peels very easily unlike the orange. Juices are an excellent drink.
Finally we have the MEREY, it is not often found in markets, it is a fleshy fruit that is consumed very little, but its seed is roasted and sold in many places, its seed is rich in unsaturated fats.
Of all the fruits mentioned above, I particularly love MANGO, CAMBUR, AND MEREY SEED.
I hope you like some of them, they are all exquisite.
Thanks for reading and supporting.
