If you are a foreigner and need to get your ID for the first time (the process is called the original ID), we will explain how to do it.

*What I need?

  • Passport or Certificate of Nationality in force, to prove your identity.

  • Temporary registration (with a minimum of 60 days of validity at the time of submitting to do the procedure) or permanent issued by the National Directorate of Migration.

  • If you are under 16 years of age, you must present a Birth Certificate legalized with Apostille, Visa of the Argentine Consulate in the issuing country of the document or Consulate of the issuing country in Argentina (only for MERCOSUR Member Countries and Associated States)

*As I do?

If you live in the City of Buenos Aires

1.- I requested an on-line shift for the headquarters that corresponds to you:
if you already have the residence I chose the option of Hipólito Irigoyen 952;
if you do not have the residence take the turn for Av. Antártida Argentina 1355 where you can start both procedures (residence + DNI).

2.- You present that day with the corresponding documentation and at the end you are given a proof of DNI in process. This proof is not an identity card.

3.- The DNI is sent to your home by Postal Mail.

Note: If you started the DNI in the National Migration Office and you received two notices of visit from the Post Office but you were not in your house, remove it without shift, from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the National Registry of Persons

now the question we all realize how much is the cost and how long?????

*How much?

$ 60.-

*Validity

If you are over 14 years: a validity of 15 years.
If it is a minor: up to 5/8 years and then up to 14.

Note: If upon receipt of your ID you notice that you have an incorrect information, approach without an appointment to the office where you did it and request its correction.
Replacement is free.

after that they process the dni I can get a precarious and with that you can work with all normality and if in three months you did not reach the renewal and ready.

the images shown here were captured by several groups of strangers to whom I belong

Thank you very much and I hope the information is of your pleasure and usefulness.
