The Devils of Yare one of the most popular manifestations of Venezuela and that occurs in several states of Venezuela as Aragua, Vargas, Miranda, Cojedes and Carabobo, according to the home and those who practice this very colorful and striking dance do not say it is a mixture of indigenous, black and Spanish cultures.

In 2012 it was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, nothing more and nothing less than Unesco, without a doubt a pride for this Venezuelan belief, its faithful followers show their devotion for this dance fulfilling promises after asking these devils dancers for their health and sometimes for the economic.

Particularly I am one of those people who do not believe in this type of dance, because it leans a little religiously, but as a Venezuelan I can not help feeling proud of this great tradition, which year after year unites many Venezuelans in these great Dancing parties that occur in many parts of the Venezuelan territory.

There are several versions about how they started this dance party in Venezuela:

The first :

In 1208 when the religious Juliana de Cornillon promotes the idea of celebrating a festivity in honor of the body and blood of Christ, many say that although it is a possibility it is the most remote of all by the time it is said everything happened.

The second:

Four hundred years ago when they say that a priest did not have enough money or believers to take the Corpus Christi procession and in view of this, he says: "If there are no believers to take the Blessed One, let the devils come then", Legend says that the skies began to twinkle and this motive to the residents because it was taken as a call and in a few hours many of them were in front of the church ....

Third:

Legend has it that in 1740 it was the first year of the Dancing Devils of Yare, in a time of drought, the black desperate for fear of losing the harvest, they ask God to rain, so in that year It rained torrentially and in gratitude the blacks offered to dress up as Devils and from there the dance began, for many this is the most credible version of all, some also say that there are writings of their ancestors about these stories.

In short a tradition like few, colorful and beautiful, a total pride for Venezuelans these dances of the Devils of Yare.
