Hi, Steemiteros!
Today I want to talk a little about the steemit platform and how it works so I decided to explain the difference between being a curator and being an author, this will serve a lot for those who are new to the steemit platform and help them understand how it really works.
WHAT IS A CURATOR?
The curator is the person who VOTES in the publications or comments of others, either because he liked the content or because he wants to get the cure of that blog (it is the reward that a curator obtains by voting in the publications of others) , the curator gets 25% reward.
But it must be borne in mind that there are rules for curators when voting a publication, which is the following:
• From 0 to 2 minutes -> 100% goes to the author
• From 3 to 14 minutes -> you will receive 10%
• From 15 to 26 minutes -> the author receives 50% and you receive 50%
• From 27 to 30 minutes -> you receive 90%
• And after 30 minutes -> you will receive 100% (that is, you receive 25% of your vote)
WHAT IS AN AUTHOR?
An author is the person who makes a publication in steemit, that is to say, it is the user who creates an informative content to share it in the platform in which he can include text, images or videos.
It can also be author those users who make comments in the publications of other authors or their own blog.
It is important to note that the author will receive a reward of 75% of the earnings obtained through a publication (remember that the earnings are obtained by receiving votes from other users and those earnings vary depending on how many users voted and the voting power they had each of them), while the other 25% will be distributed among all the curators who voted in that publication.
NOTE: Each publication that is made (either post or comment), authors and curators must wait 7 days to receive payments!
I hope this information will help you a lot, see you in an upcoming blog !!!!!
The more you know ;D
