📖LEARNING; Tips to counter reading
1️⃣ Never read the full passage.
Now this might sound wrong but that's the key in saving time. I will explain it with second point.
2️⃣ Always read the questions first and ALL OF THEM
i.e
for the passage you are solving. No matter how lengthy or typical the passage is.
The moment you read and understand the questions your 90% task is done.
While reading the question always UNDERLINE the KEY WORDS.
❇️For example in the statement
Link
"THE DRAWBACKS OF CURRENT COMPANY RESTRUCTURING PATTERNS" the words DRAWBACKS and RESTRUCTURING PATTERNS are the key words.
Now look for these two key words in the passages.
If this is the 1st question then your answer has to be in either 1st or 2nd paragraph (GUARANTEED).
Don't read the passage!.
Just skim through the words with your pencil moving fast. The moment you see RESTRUCTURING PATTERNS "STOP" and underline.
Read two lines above it and two lines below it.
You will get your answer surely. The moment you get the answer revisit the second question and look at the key word you underlined.
Start skimming again from the line next to the one which had 1st answer.
Yes you guessed it right, the questions will always follow a sequence.
If 1st answer is in 2nd Paragraph then the 2nd answer will be anywhere below the previous answer.
☝️(NOTE IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ AND UNDERLINE KEY WORDS FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS. THIS WILL HELP YOU IN HEADINGS AND OTHER MATCH THE FOLLOWING TYPE QUESTIONS such as WHICH PARAGRAPH DISCUSSES WHICH POINTS OR AUTHORS MAKING CLAMS type questions.
3️⃣ VERY IMPORTANT as we all loose marks here.
For true, False and Not given questions.
☝️### FOR TRUE STATEMENT the full sentence will be available in the passage to make the decision.
FOR FALSE the full sentence will be available to make the decision.
FOR NOT GIVEN IT WILL NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT THAT.
❇️For e.g. a line says
EARTH REVOLVES AROUND THE SUN then
1.) SUN REVOLVES AROUND THE EARTH IS FALSE.
2.) EARTH REVOLVES AROUND THE SUN AND MOON REVOLVES AROUND THE EARTH IS "NOT GIVEN".
4️⃣ This is ANOTHER very important point.
NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING.
👉Always stick to the passage and whatever the passage says is true.
❇️Example: the passage says MEN GIVE BIRTH TO BABIES, then this is the truth.
Most of us tend to assume that in real life this is not how things happen and that is where we make mistakes.
** FADE YOUR BRAINS.**
Don't assume anything.
Whatever the passage says consider it as the MATTER OF FACT.
5️⃣ ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TRANSFER YOUR ANSWERS THE MOMENT you mark one answer.
Attempt at least 2 sections before doing that else you will loose concentration.
6️⃣ Practice difficult passages. The more the better.
