Imagine for a moment that you can control the dreams, sounds unrealistic, right ?, because according to a new study this is possible.

A group of Australian scientists have done an investigation in which combining several techniques can increase the possibility of having lucid dreams, this means that the person is aware that he is dreaming and can even control the experience.

According to the Science Daily portal, there are several techniques to be able to induce this type of dreams, but all have had low success rates. In contrast, this new research led by Denholm Aspy, from the University of Adelaide (Australia), have combined several of these techniques, achieving greater efficiency. This study was performed with the participation of 47 individuals who were tested three techniques to induce lucid dreams.

The first technique is a reality test, and is done by checking the environment several times a day to know if you are dreaming or not.

The second technique known as 'wake back to bed' consists of waking up after five hours, staying awake for a short period of time and trying to fall asleep again, with this technique trying to enter into what is known as REM sleep state.

The third technique known as MILD (mnemonic induction of lucid dreams), is to wake up after five hours of sleep and try to remember what you were dreaming, before trying to sleep again repeat the following sentence "The next time I am dreaming, I will remember that I am dreaming ". You will also have to imagine that you are inside a lucid dream.

Research showed that people who used these three techniques had a success rate of 17% in a week, a much higher percentage than in the week that did not use these techniques. Among those who managed to fall asleep in the first five minutes after performing the MILD technique, the success rate was significantly higher, reaching bright dreams almost 46% of the attempts.

According to the researchers, these techniques do not affect the quality of sleep.
