Must pay 200 euros each user
This happens because of what we talked about in this blog Cambridge Analytica has been the blow that has triggered a huge domino fall. In Spain, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has announced that it will demand Facebook representing the 26 million users in the country, requesting at least 200 euros of compensation per user. Good news for Spanish users if we manage to do this we hope that something like that also comes in latam but I doubt it very much even though it does not have to be so reminiscent but good. The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has joined its counterparts in other European countries to launch a class action lawsuit against Facebook.
In it, they will ask for compensation of at least 200 euros for users of the social network for the improper use of their data after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The class action lawsuit arises as a result of this misuse of the data, but it goes beyond those directly affected by it. The OCU will represent all Facebook users in Spain as they consider that it has allowed "a great collection and exchange of data of its users without them having been informed nor expressed their express agreement".
It is still difficult to say if this will remain or not but they already have something more or less to ask for. the Administration of Justice will decide this will assess the damage and must calculate the final amount of the compensation, since the OCU consider that it should never be less than 200 euros per user if we take into account the commercial benefits obtained from the users' data and infractions committed by not protecting them.
Also sanctioned the Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEPD), issued a resolution of the sanctioning procedure initiated to the WhatsApp and Facebook companies. All looks good or at least that seems to hope that you can get more and in good time if you receive 200 euros or more compensation

At least someone is holding Facebook accountable. Good for Spain.
