Czytając eksytujące nagłówki medialne "Różowy konik polny", niezwykle rzadki, ekstremalnie rzadki, zapragnęłam - a jakże - również napotkać i sfotografować takiego konika polnego. Na razie nie udało mi się odnaleźć aż tak intensywnie erytrycznego osobnika, ale sesja przeprowadzona we własnym ogródku przyniosła zaskakujące rezultaty.

Koniki w moim ogrodzie to prawdopodobnie przedstawiciele gatunku konik brunatny (Chorthippus brunneus). Warto jednak wiedzieć, że powszechnie występujące w Polsce gatunki - konik polny, konik osiodłany, konik wszędobylski i konik brunatny charakteryzują się sporą zmiennością barwną i obserwacje tych gatunków z pewnością dadzą dużo wrażeń i zaskakujące rezultaty.
Biały konik polny
Powyżej najjaśniej ubarwiony osobnik jakiego udało mi się zaobserwować. Z większej odległości mógł uchodzić za albinosa - wydawał się praktycznie biały. Z bliska widać jednak, że jego organizm produkuje pewną ilość barwników - ciało ma niejednolity marmurkowy wzór, pokrywy są bladosłomkowe.
W tej części ogródka mamy spore powierzchnie wyściółkowane słomą żytnią, dlatego tak jasno ubarwiony konik wcale nie był łatwy do zauważenia. Wypatrzyłam go tylko dzięki temu, że wykonał skok z jasnego podłoża na źdźbło trawy.

Brunatny konik polny
W sąsiedztwie oczka wodnego, gdzie mamy tak zwaną suchą łączkę i trochę elementów betonowych napotkałam tak ubarwionego konika - to bardzo często spotykane szarobrunatne osobniki. Również potrafią się rewelacyjnie maskować - to typowe barwy natury.

Model oczywiście nie chciał współpracować i postanowił się oddalić na pobliską winorośl. Na liściu zaprezentował szczegóły budowy i ubarwienia od strony grzbietowej.

Rożowy konik polny
Udało mi się znaleźć również częściowo różowego konika polnego. Nie jest to całkowity erytryzm - w ciele produkowane są również inne barwniki (co widać w oku i na odnóżach), ale barwy różowej jest całkiem sporo. Tak ubarwiony konik wcale nie padnie łatwo łupem ptaków. Znalazłam go na naszym ogrodowym składowisku ściętych gałęzi. Wśród suchych liści nieszczególnie wyróżniał się barwą i jak zwykle zauważyłam najpierw ruch - gdyby siedział nieruchomo zapewne z obserwacji nic by nie wyszło.

W bardziej cienistym miejscu prezentował się tak.
Koniki polne mogą mieć również barwę zieloną, mogą być również bardzo ciemne - od strony grzbietowej prawie czarne. Dorosłe osobniki obserwować można od czerwca do października, więc liczę na uchwycenie obiektywem jeszcze kilku kolorowych wariantów.

In Poland, you can find grasshoppers that have a gene that gives their body a pink color. I hope that one day I will photograph an individual that is completely pink - it is not easy, because such grasshoppers usually die quickly, eaten by birds.
Hopefully my brother succeeds in achieving it and I can see him here.

The gene for pink body color appears in all insects of the Acrididae family.
Due to the climate warming, locusts have been appearing in Poland for some time now (fortunately they do not form swarms) - I hope to photograph them someday. :)

The grasshopper are making a meal of my squash leaves but I could almost forgive the pink one. Very pretty.
I also forgive grasshoppers for eating my vegetables, especially since they never destroy leaves too intensively. :)
No, not when there is just a few, but we live in crop country and they can do some heavy damage en masse.
