"We are activists and fighters for social and gender justice, and it is a great pride to accompany the members of the 'Time's Up' campaign who have raised their voices in this historic moment," the organizers of the initiative said in a statement.

Emma Stone was accompanied by the famous Billie Jean King, the extenist who plays in the film "Battle of the Sexes" and founder of the Women's Association of Professional Tennis Players (WTA), while Susan Sarandon appeared with the Puerto Rican journalist Rosa Clemente, who recalled that his country "is still in crisis" after the passage of Hurricane Maria.

Meryl Streep chose Ai-jen Poo, director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, as a guest.

"People are now more aware that power without balance leads to abuses in all fields, we want to fix that situation and for that we must all be together," said the actress on the red carpet.

Poo called for "a joint effort" to achieve "decent work for all."

For her part, Michelle Williams made an appearance with Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo movement.

While Laura Dern opted for the lawyer Mónica Ramírez, co-founder of the National Alliance of Peasants.

"Our members knew the stories that are coming out of Hollywood and they wanted to send the message that the victims are not alone and we send them all our strength, we fight for equality at all levels, each voice must be heard," said Ramírez.

And Emma Watson appeared alongside Marai Larasi, executive director of Imkaan, a group defending the rights of black women, and co-chair of End Violence Against Women Coalition.

The initiative was also joined by Shailene Woodley with Calina Lawrence, a member of the Suquamish Indian tribe, and Amy Poehler with Saru Jayaraman, president of ROC Action, in support of workers in New York affected by the attacks of September 11, 2001.
