No, this book is not an autobiographical novel about a self-starting entrepreneur in the favelas of Rio, as much as I'd like to read something like that. Even though I was recommended this book by somebody whose experience I appreciate, it didn't really do much for me.
The book is primarily focused on app development specifically and software design more generally, but brings nothing overly interesting.
Normatives such as removing as many features from a software as possible, regular updates, keeping the software web-based instead of downloaded and similar all sound trite but not in a fundamental way, but rather as completely obvious observations that any remotely capable businessperson would be staying on the right side of.
Other than that, the book mentions all of the regular talking points for leadership and project management that don't deepen one's understanding of the subject matter. The writing is potable if nothing else, but it's far from an interesting read.
