This is the only movie of the ones you have assigned that I have already seen. I was happy to watch it again, because the first time I was mad the whole time that this movie took away what would've been Leo's first oscar. This movie just shows how fake people can be. In the worst days of Ron's life all the people in his life leave, because they think he is gay. I get at the time AIDS was still very new and only thought to be passed through gay sex, but that still is not right to do to someone, especially a close friend. Ron in this movie shows many characteristics it is important to have in a person. Passion, drive, desire and selflessness. Ron, who was a homophobe at first, is spending the last 30 days of his life trying to help the people who also suffers from AIDS get cured. He had to go through many of obstacles to get the medicine in the 1st place. He teamed up with another person with AIDS named Rayon. Ron had to of been very committed to this idea. He had to do so many of illegal things just to help save people from the same fate he had. Ron would eventually find a "loophole" for his business. He would sell memberships to his club, Dallas Buyers Club, for $400 a month. When you got the membership you got many of "free" things to help with the AIDS. This shows determination. He went out of his way just to find a "loophole" to save many of people who at the beginning of the movie he hated. The main problem in this movie is his "friends" in the beginning. They just watched the best friend get the worse news of his life, and just because everyone thought it was passed n by gay sex they completely ignored the guy. Also they didn't just ignore him they abused him, taunted him and made his life miserable. Could you imagine your best friends leaving you during your toughest time? I sure couldn't. He was told he had 30 days left to live then lost all his friends and still decided to fight for himself and eventually other people. Ron saw a problem and found a way to fix it. The most entrepreneurial thing in the world. Ron's story has probably been my favorite so far. His whole personality changed, the way he saw people and the things he judged about other people. Once he saw and changed all of this it opened up his eyes to what he could actually do and the difference he could make if he just tried. It is really cool to see a person who hated something so much at the beginning of the movie be forced to change and once changed do something so good for the people he originally hated. You could say it was the money that pushed him to do it, but the lengths he went showed how much he had changed.
