Keith Smith on Free Market Health Care
Entrepreneur and anesthesiologist Keith Smith founded the Surgery Center of Oklahoma, intending to change the market. Keith Smith's idea arose in the mid to late nineteen-nineties when he went on to open a surgical facility that only took cash payment and did not involve insurance. I'm not well educated on health care and anything involving medicine; however, Keith Smith's business ways seem to be working for over a decade now.
One of the significant problems in America is healthcare for many Americans who are not as fortunate as others. It has always been a conversation between activists and government officials. Has much been done about this ongoing problem? Multiple healthcare systems and aids have been put into place; however, are they really working? Here we sit in the year two-thousand-twenty-two, and we still have poverty, homeless, sickness, etc. It is almost as if nothing has been done, even after all the year's man has walked the earth. There has been poor, sick, or even mental illness since the beginning. We have not seen change when it comes to these things, and I do not think we ever will.
If you were to sit back and look at the things we have funding for, such as our military, schools, buildings, highways, etc. These all happen to be important things, I would say. However, where is the funding for this nation's health? It was not until very recently that this country finally opened its eyes to all types of illness. Mental health is the main one that has finally been taken more seriously than ever, At least is what it seems like over the past few years. Now there are charities and funding events that go on for these things, but it honestly is not enough and never will be enough. It will never out rule the government funding, and that is why. It is not like they would ever align, either. Free market health care has the right ideals and wants to provide the best opportunity for people. However, not everyone can afford it. There will always be poorness and poverty in this world.
The healthcare system is the heart and soul of this world. Without it, we would not be where we are today, and it must be taken more seriously for the sole fact of life. As a human society, we can not afford for the healthcare system to fall or be disrupted any more than it already is. If that were to happen, there is no telling how long we would last as a life form on earth. The healthcare system is something that is taken advantage of by many, and it is unfortunate. The market will always be imperfect, but there are ways to improve it. I think some do not want to do such a thing. I mean, it would not be the same if they did, right?
