Tucker: A Man and His Dream
Just like every entrepreneurial mindset, the ultimate goal is success. We try to think of the best ways to adapt and overcome obstacles that come to stand in our way. Although these obstacles can be very challenging and even make us rethink our decision in what we pursue, we continue. Why is that? Is it passion or the stubborn egotistical mindset that causes us to keep moving forward in what we believe in? There honestly is a profound answer to those questions. However, I honestly think some people refuse to lose, no matter the battle they might find themselves in.
In this scenario, Tucker has this mindset about what he wants to achieve and a starving desire to make it happen. As seen in the movie, Tucker is a dreamer. His ultimate goal is to build a more innovative vehicle than any other vehicle on the market. He wanted to make a vehicle that was not the style during that period. It included a more stunning look that was also safer for the people who would be driving them. While Tucker dreamed of this beautiful new car he wanted to build, he had to get a company’s interest. See, this is a problem a lot of the time for entrepreneurs. Some entrepreneurs have unique ideas but do not have the networking or connections to get the outing they need for their vision to get the jump they need.
It was not too late when Tucker would get his break and give an interview about his new idea for an innovative vehicle. After that single interview, Tucker was a target and was getting the exact thing he needed from the more prominent companies. They were all interested in Tucker’s idea; however, Tucker was not all prepared. There needed to be a vehicle prototype which he did not have. However, through time he was able to get one built, and it was presented to an audience who happened to love it! While Tucker goes on to work on his design, some people see how much of a hit Tucker’s car could be. That could not happen, so they tried to take him down and prevent this vehicle from getting produced. After multiple lawsuits were filed against him, it was not looking good for Tucker and his company. Even when all seemed impossible, Tucker was not planning on falling. He gave a remarkable speech and was later proven not guilty of the accusations.
In the end, did Tucker’s company fail? Yes. However, Tucker did not see this as a failure. He bought his vision true and made something people fell in love with at first sight. They went above and beyond to produce this newly innovated vehicle, and they did just that. They persevered through multiple obstacles and kept pushing forward. Just as every entrepreneur should do, no matter what is thrown your way. Entrepreneurs should stick to what they believe in and go as far as they can to achieve their goals and more. I think everyone with entrepreneurial aspirations should live by one quote: “ How can the sky be the limit when there are footprints on the moon?”
