A meeting was convened by the undersigned, Coordinator, Intercultural Youth Council Islamabad – Pakistan regarding a Pilot Project of Tree Plantation program at Village Bhatta, Tehsil Gujar Khan, and District Rawalpindi. In this connection after great discussion, it was decided to write letters to Pakistan Tobacco Company Private Limited at its head office Kunjah, Sargodha Road, Gujrat and its local office at Islamabad. The undersigned was assigned the duties to write the letters to both the office immediately.
After a keen interest the undersigned wrote letters to both the offices and requested them to provide plants free of cost to Pilot Project. Mr. Abdul Khaliq at Islamabad Office and M. Baitullah Khan, Gujrat office are the focal persons. The undersigned was remained in touch with telephonically both the persons. They told that the case under process and expected to provide him the plants by the concerned office very soon. After receiving the plants the pilot project was started very soon and youth are ready to work over there for planting the saplings to the land earmarked by the Coordinator at Village Bahata, Tehsil Gujar Khan, Distt. Rawalpindi very soon.
By the grace of Almighty Allah (God) on 18th August, 2017 the undersigned was informed to receive 1000 saplings from Mr. Abdul Khaliq, representative of Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited Islamabad Branch after getting proper approval by the authority, and the undersigned was rushed to receive the 1000 saplings of different categories of trees from the said Nursery in F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.
Tree Plantation Programme: After receiving the 1000 saplings, he hired a Suzuki Van to deliver the said plants at his Native Village Bhatta, Tehsil Gujar Khan, Distt. Rawalpindi 50 k.m.
away from Islamabad. He informed the local farmers and youth volunteers to plants the said saplings in the area earmarked for this purpose. The farmer taken keen interest and as per their requirements the plants were handed over to them and they were directed to take great care of these saplings and to look after the plants in a befitting manners proper watering etc. They promised to make sure their 100% survival. It is to mention here that 400 saplings were handed over to the Grave Yard of Village Bhatta to the Care Taker Mr. Tasleem, who is working as Voluntary basis. He was very happy to receive these saplings and demanded more about 500 plants to the Grave Yard. I promised to provide him in the next plantation season. He also asked me to provide some flowers plants for this. Grave Yard have its 8 Acres land and a boundary wall is built to cover the Grave Yard. The plants survival look like 100% definitely.
