First of all, let me say that I would love to drive an electric car, but unfortunately they are too expensive at the moment. I read this article on takepart.com:
http://www.takepart.com/article/2016/08/06/uk-more-charging-stations-gas-stations
Amazing how fast it goes: it is written that there could be more electric vehicle charging stations than gas stations in the United Kingdom by 2020. If this information came from an environmental organization I would be skeptic about it, but it is NISSAN claiming this report! That makes it special in my opinion. Honestly, I don't hope it will take till 2020, the sooner the better. I live near a road and the fumes until today make me nauseous.
If add to that what I read about a year ago, that in the Netherlands there are experiments with plastic roads (?!) which are more environment friendly that is at least a little bit of good news.
You can read that article here:

I know a lot of people will be skeptical, but change and progress is a good thing. If it needs time, it needs time. But one day things will be different and I might breath fresher air while going home. Who knows?
It would make economic sense for existing infrastructure to be repurposed as charging stations for both plugin and hydrogen powered cars. Many fuel stations are far more than that with fast food and convenience stores attached.
yeah I agree :)
Good! I've got my Tesla 3 reserved already so more charging stations will be good for both me and the environment!
haha fancy with the Tesla 3, well done
