Green Greetings NES-Cam Stakeholders,
This Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 02:00 PM, we meet at CEMASUD at Ghana Street (Opposite BAPCULL) for our first Civil Society-hosted NES-Cam Meeting.
As a gentle reminder from our June meeting, the following resolutions were made to revamp NES-Cam:
- Membership in NES-Cam is limited to active registered organizations.
- NES-Cam will be formalized through an MOU signed by different organizations and presented to various ministries such as MINEPDED, MINFOF, MINADER, MINEE, etc.
- NES-Cam shall operate as an independent body, partnering with different sector ministries or councils to promote sustainable development initiatives in Cameroon.
- NES-Cam members shall pay an annual registration fee of 20,000 francs and meet once every month, rotating between organizations' offices. Using the "Njangi" system, NES-Cam members shall support each other with a monthly contribution of 20,000 francs to help the host organization prepare and receive stakeholders. During these meetings, the host organization will present all its projects, programs, and best practices.
- CEMASUD was agreed to host the first meeting in July, during which the aforementioned proposals will be fine-tuned and adopted. The meeting will also serve as a crucial point to start working on the leadership structure of NES-Cam and commence the establishment of a Plan of Action.
- A simple logo will be proposed by Y'G Inc. for the creation of NES-Cam letterhead, stamp, and other branding materials.
- Participants were tasked with mobilizing all environmental organizations in the region to be part of NES-Cam.
I propose that we start deliberating on some of these issues online while we wait for CEMASUD to confirm the meeting time.
Thank you for your understanding.
Green regards,
