Initially I found the video (in an abbreviated version) on Facebook where it was posted with Italian subtitles by Dolce Vita Magazine, so I searched if I could fined the original on YouTube - here it is:
If we re-establish the 4,5 billion years from which planet earth exists on a single day of 24 hours, we'll find out that the man lives at 3 Seconds. A time that was enough to upset the Planet!
Prince Ea returns with another spoken-poetry type beat, in which he describes mankind’s impact on planet Earth, the lack of attention being paid to it, and the difference between “wisdom” and “intelligence”.
Fun fact: planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old.
Mankind? About 140,000 years old.
Let me put that in perspective:
If you condense the Earth's lifespan into 24 hours,
that's one full day,
then we have been here on this planet for...
...drumroll please...
...three seconds.
Three seconds, and look what we've done.
We have modestly named ourselves "homo sapiens"
meaning "wise man", but is man really so wise?
Smart, yes, and it's good to be smart,
but not too smart for your own good.
Yes, we have split the atom.
Yes, we build clever machines that
navigate the universe in search of new homes.
But at the same time,
those atoms we split created nuclear warfare.
In our quest to explore the galaxy,
rejects and neglects the home that we have here now.
So no, that can not be wisdom.

Stand for Trees
They just slaughtered easily a hundred trees right by where I live to put in an exit ramp so people can save 2 minutes of time getting to a job they hate.
There are those ( I refuse to call them people) that think they can just destroy the nature of their environment without repercussion.
Upvoted, resteemed!
thank you!
Happy to resteem any such reminder.
Yes, there are a few extra challenges today, but look how dedicated or stubborn we all are, we are still here!
Thank you Sabina! I struggled to post this - Steemit was slow to impossible today, so I posted via Busy, and now, following Peter's suggestion, I am on Steemitstage
Powerful video. I used to be as bad as the next person with detrimental consumer habits , over consumption of individually wrapped plastic everything. Over the years I have worked really hard on reducing my carbon footprint and preach the same thing, we are destroying our world. Here in Canada everyone is fighting against Alberta pipeline expansion yet consuming everything like gluttons, getting oil carried over by tankers from countries without the strict environmental standards we have, chopping down entire forests, all the sewage dumped in rivers by the same areas that protest the pipeline and blame the industry but are all unwilling to look in the mirror at their own habits excessive purchases that fuel the very industry in the first place. Landfills and oceans filled up with plastic garbage yet everyone continues to consume disposable plastic at an increasing rate. No need to go back to the cave age but if everyone around the developed world consumed smarter and made a few small changes, together it would have a significant impact on the planet.
I have stopped using disposable plastic bags, I significantly reduced the amount of garbage I produce by not buying single serve anything or packaged meals. I have started using reusable containers instead of sandwich bags or plastic wrap. I stopped changing my wardrobe as often and buying timeless quality clothing that I can keep for a long time instead of disposable fashion. Those are just a few examples of ways to consume more responsibly. At the end of the day, in a world so reliant on credit to maintain an unsustainable lifestyle, a few changes would benefits everybody.
Having done photography for a while now, It's like a record of the changes and a disappearing landscape. Visiting the icefields regularly is a direct visual to what is happening as they continue to recede and haven't seen any growth in many decades, That's our water suplly here in Alberta and they are disappearing.
Wooooooooow this man knows how to Rap!!!
