Thank you for this post. I'm still new on steemit but so glad I am finding people who believe, write about and communicate things I wholeheartedly agree with. Thank heavens for such a forward-thinking community that cares for the people, ALL people, and for the planet so humankind may actually have a chance to survive. I live in a small place where it is easier for individuals to live a 'cleaner' life and do their bit than it might be in a big city. I buy my fruit and veg from a local co-op so I know it's all local, seasonal and mostly organic/bio-dynamic. I try to go as plastic-free, meat-free, and household-chemical-free as possible but it's hard to escape it completely. For example, I have to use my car a lot because our public transport is very unreliable and everything is far apart. But if everyone just did their bit, the easy things they know and are aware of, the things that are really not hard to do, the world would already be able to breathe a little easier. Then of course, there are the big things that are hidden from the public, or as you say, the public is deliberately mislead for the benefit of the big, greedy polluters and those who support them due to massive vested interest. It is great if people's attention is directed to these things, and how one can avoid to inadvertently support businesses and corporations whose work destroys our livelihood and only benefits the deep pockets of a few. I think a place like steemit will help spread some truths that everyone needs to hear, and thus effect positive change.
