EOS-World is changing quickly. During EOSGO Party it was mentioned that there might be (at least) two chains soon, as some BP´s (Block Provider) do not seem to find consensus.
One BP stated that there would most likely be two chains very soon. This is a two-edged sword while one half will most likely cheer about additional tokens for their wallets, others will be suspiciously following the developments since this might reduce the overall power of EOS.

Additionally, the first evidence of an ERC20 Token called EOS Classic surfaced on Twitter and inside the EOSGO.IO forum for Airdrops. Any wallet holding 100 EOS will receive 1:1 ratio of EOS classic. This fork is (to my knowledge) the first one of a DPoS Token so far.
The good news, the Genesis Snapshot has reached the consensus of at least 5 BP´s and is available for download here: https://github.com/eosnewyork/snapshots/blob/master/final/2/snapshot.csv If you are curious, you can search the file for your public ETH key to validate if your EOS are included.
The snapshot is also the basis for most of the upcoming Airdrops, so you better assure that your address is included. It is not too late to do so, there are still some hours left.
While trading resumes on exchanges, the price of EOS has been extremely volatile it seems to move upwards once more. Be cautious though, as it may also drop hard again. Some users of the EOS Telgram Channel commented: "The volume of EOS is limited on exchanges right now, so naturally the price should go up."
Exciting times for EOS.
Important thing will new that one chain gets the mainnet status quickly (the b1 backed one), otherwise as the project is setup to have multiple chains, no harm per se in starting with two right away.
Voting is the critical activity for all of us during the next weeks to assure that it will all fall into place. That is true, my personal favorites for BPs are EOSCanada and EOSAuthority. I will most likely not vote for the PoW BPs such as Genesis. So whatever chain is backed by those will most likely be my favorite.
Do you have any preferences yet?
Yeah, let's hope that the voting portals work as expected and don't open and attack vectors for hackers.
I 've got my list and your candidates are on it as well. If you are interested in my considerations, I've just posted about that yesterday;)
CypherGlass is on my list
