EOS is an upcoming platform designed to help the creation of decentralized apps (DAPPS). The company behind EOS, is seeking crowdfunding in the forum of an ico. They are offing 1 Billion EOS tokens, with a distribution plan that lasts a year. The interesting part of the sale is that the market determines price... the question is market, right?

If you believe EOS can do at minimum what ETH can do, then fair market value is around $35/EOS. If you believe EOS can do more than ETH can do, then EOS is worth > $35.
Just curious - how did you arrive at that valuation? Also what horizon of time do you think it will be achieved? I am pro-EOS.
$35 represents the market cap of ETH before EOS started to absorb ETH value - basically saying that if EOS can do what ETH can do, EOS should be valued at ETH market cap prior to EOS ICO.
All things being equal EOS should reach the $35 by June of 2018 when the main chain goes live... but it could also be far higher if Segwit gets activated, BTC goes boom and more money flows into crypto. It could also be far lower if EOS doesn't deliver. Speculation is fun, no?
I agree with these comments. Especially regarding Segwit. I think there is mass accumulation occurring right now.
Short term - yes EOS is overpriced if it is really at a $3B valuation (currently this would make it a top 4 coin on CMC), long term - who knows? DL has a solid track record and this is his most ambitious project to date. If (big IF) it overtakes Ethereum AND other crypto tech such as IOTA/tangle, it does seem to have the potential to disrupt the cryptospace and become a major distributed ledger infrastructure play. If the market cap of all crypto goes into the trillions which many have speculated it could then even a $3-4B valuation may put the tokens at less than 1% of their ultimate long term value. Investors should be careful, at this time it is more of a play for speculation.
Yes it is way overpriced atm, as is msot other ICO's imo
Any price is overpriced until the platform provides value-generating functions. Right now, we are seeing over speculation.
Simple answer right now. Yes EOS is overpriced.
If you can build Steemit on EOS I wonder when will they start moving Steemit to EOS. I hope it won't be a new one build on EOS but compete with Steemit.
it was when it when to 5$ after launch, i would wait to buy it when it crashes more
Beside an analysis of the tecnology they are going to provide, and the legitimacy and integrity of the coin in total. I wrote a simple do-the-math on the ICO-distribution: why the price will decrease in the next weeks and month ... i is very unlikley that will holdup at these levels. But read it yourself!
The question isn´t is EOS overprized, the questions is whether or not they are able to actually deliver. Just look at how much FANG-companies are worth, platforms like EOS or Ethereum could easily become more valuable than those if they are able to deliver.

Hi, we are planning new ICO for Ai and data-science startup.
If you are interested, check please our announcement post https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@gromozeka/ann-ai-and-the-blockchain-help-with-an-ico-proof-of-concept-for-new-startup
The thing is, you can't get EOS in the US. That kinda impacts things.
