BancorX: the First Cross-Blockchain Liquidity Network

Bancor has just announced that they are setting up a EOS smartcontrat, so expanding from an EOS based blockchain to a Multi-Platform network:

Whereas this is not the most braking news, as they have had those plans for quite a while, successfully running for BP (Liquid EOS), this news is no surprise. Technically its yet another platform, that goes away from ETH centralism (see my list here).

As far as i understand, bancor provides you with your own smartcontract, that they are calling Relay,
that allow you place orders without transferring you tokens to a centralised entity.

The big promise of that move is, that they will connect the both token environments eventually, making it possible for you to trade all ERC20 as well as all EOS tokens via their network.

As a start they will add a few major tokens like IQ, Horus, Meet.One.

All in all this is great news, mostly because i didnt expect it that early. And it seems the first of a many great news that are up to come.

    Interesting. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this would work...but it's certainly exciting. Clearly I'm not a tech guy. ;-)

    Well to i assume, if you have an odd token pair, they just calculate the rate back to like the major coin (ETH or EOS) and then calculate on to the rate of the destination token. Of course this would need to have some liquidity as well, otherwise, they would need to act as proper market maker, which isnt the case i guess...

      Linking eos to the rest of the blockchain world is needed. Its like eos is trapped in its own amazing world

      A lot of platforms now pursue a multi-platform strategy, inluding EOS as one of their pillars, so the seclusion comes to an end hopefully.
