Your prediction might come to fruition earlier than expected due to the announcement of forthcoming airdropped tokens to EOS holders.. this will undoubtably create a secondary value stream for early investors.

Never mind the airdrop, they also promised 1 billion from the crowd sale goes into EOS startups. If that happens and is spent wisely the usage on the platform will be huge.
There will be a shakeout in the crypto market at some point, all the coins with only a fancy white paper, even some with fancy tech will be wiped out. It's the ones that actually have useful services with an actual business case that will survive. The best tech in the world is useless until someone is using it.
That's why I like EOS so much, @dan and his team are building great tech and appear to be delivering but they also seem to be gearing up to promote its use. So many projects seem to be taking the "build it and they will come" approach and a few are good at the marketing but the tech is really not that great. EOS looks like it might just have the whole package.
What does airdrop mean in this context?
As part of the same announcement they announced that the Everpedia IQ token would be handed out to everyone holding EOS tokens, that is known as an airdrop.
Even with this massive dump?
This dump certainly deeper than expected, but seems many people say fundamentals are strong longer term. So need to be able to stomach the pain.
