Fake profiles are inevitable, if they contribute to the platform I don't see why that would be a problem. The thing is, the less power you got the less money you make anyway, fake profiles wont make that much money and if they do its because they are hyper active on the platform bringing new users at the same time. Let's say someone create 100 fake girl profiles, he is going to be very active with those 100 fake profiles engaging in conversations, visiting profiles and liking profiles. The fake users will bring real users and once the real users find out they are fake they will report them and they wont be able to make money anymore on the platform.
Most fake profiles are created by the business to pump up the numbers. This was revealed in AshleyMadison which had only 5000 real women, many millions of fake women. Also indicated in other systems.
