EOS Dollars Proposal

in #eos7 years ago

I'm not involved in the development of EOS or related to it in any way, but I have a proposal/idea that maybe they already are taking into consideration.

Just like we have Steem and Steem Dollars, I think we should have EOS Tokens and EOS Dollars when this platform is launched in order to be spent in all the applications that are used over the EOS platform.

Good reasons to have a different token:

  1. EOS tokens should be used only as platform shares/bandwidth/storage allocation
  2. When the ecosystem of applications grows EOS dollars would be very valuable to pay for services in the same platform as the default method of payment
  3. You would have your shares clearly separated from your wallet, as we currently have in Steem
  4. The speed of the transfers of EOS transactions is instant compared to proof of work system
  5. No fees would be paid by transacting within the platform. Bitcoin is a great store of value but for microtransactions like the ones you will do in this platform EOS dollars would be ideal and native for the platform.
  6. You would be able to share EOS dollars with other users of the platform but not to be used just in one app like in the case of Steem but in the full list of apps or services that will be implemented over EOS

Not sure if this is already in the mind of Dan Larimer or others but just wanted to share this idea.
What do you guys think? Is there any potential there or issues that you see?

I think this is already a given. Every dapp will have their own host of tokens. Lets say EOS version of steemit will have it's token, which will interact with all the interfaces that utilises the same information. There will be a need for a decentralised exchange for interacting with the many dapps and their tokens.

yes, i guess so too, but not sure if there will be a native token like we have in steem cross-dapps. the good thing is that the decentralized exchange is something that these guys have already a lot of experience on :)

I'm a a fan of EOS and it sounds like a good idea.

great to hear that, maybe they already have this on their plans given that steemit is dan larimers idea too, hope so! :)
