5/4/2018 - BP Random pool update:
Alex Gomory / EOS SOCAL May 5, 2018
The Trinity Group had in-depth discussions on the general direction and role of the group, particularly in comparison to the other BP groups 1 and 2. Given that the community has come together to offer EOS Canada’s eos-bios a lot of support, some of the members of the Trinity Group had questions regarding Trinity’s direction. Together, the group concluded that block producer candidates need to be well versed in launching the EOS mainnet from a manual position in the event the fully-automated eos-bios encounters any difficulties or attacks. As such Trinity is continuing their testing with a more manual-launched testnet.
In the process of hashing out Trinity’s purpose, the group collectively agreed that security should be one of their primary areas of focus. While much of that discussion has been taken over by the EOS BP Infrastructure channel, Eugene Luzgin of EOS Tribe proposed using a mesh network software (Wireguard) to create a secure environment for APBs to connect when it comes to launching the mainnet. With that proposal, some of Trinity’s members have begun to learn, install, and test connecting with it.

While Trinity Testnet grew and we added more nodes, Trinity testnet stabilized and I was able to add newly joined BP members to bios contract as block producers.
Discussion about security of the network and appropriate launch procedure is a common topic among most BP groups.
Earlier in a week I felt that we needed a bigger group for an experiment of launching Testnet over secure VPN peer to peer network and took this original idea into EOS BP Infrastructure channel.
On May 2, 2018 and exactly one month before EOS main net launch a group of BP candidates have successfully conducted an experiment of establishing a mesh network of EOS BP nodes over secure VPN network supported by WireGuard software.
Special thanks to @jemxpat - friend of EOS for his technical expertise and guidance on setting up VPN network.
