One of the people driving EOS is Dan Larimer who has already launched two successful blockchains: BitShares and Steemit. So he has proven that he knows what he is doing and able to deliver. This also enforces trust that he won't just run away with the money (he probably has enough already).
I understand that their work: 'Graphene' is behind these existing projects and will power the EOS network as well. If you look at how Steemit is running, I can only be enthusiastic about how EOS would work as a platform for decentralised apps (as an alternative to Ethereum that is running into some limitations now).
Basically, I want to see what Dan 'the Man' is able to put on the table as 'third and final strike'. My expectations are high.
