EOS Is Kicking Ass & Taking Names. Up 300% In Last Month. Ethereum Inflation To Drop 90% In Casper Update.

in #eos7 years ago

EOS looks like a gamer changer to me.

Steem and Bitshares already dominate 60% of total blockchain transactions. With the addition of EOS Stan Larimer (Dan's Dad - creator of Steem) predicts a minimum of 80% of all blockchain transactions to be on "Delegated Proof of Stake" after EOS launch in June.

It amazes me it has taken nine years since blockchain was invented to finally get to scalable and user friendly blockchain built to handle commercial scale.

I am expecting a decentralized app explosion on EOS. Just by holding EOS in wallet get free airdrops. Some cool ones airdropping are eosDAC and ONO.chat.

Ethereum inflation to drop 90% in upcoming Casper upgrade

This was released from the Ethereum Foundation yesterday and already had positive effect on ETH price.

Details:
New block reward: 6e17 wei (0.6 ETH). After activation of finality, the security of the chain depends less on Proof-of-Work, so a reduction in the block reward is possible.

Casper Balance: 1M ETH. The contract will be initialized with 1 million Ether to give out. This means enough funds to run ~2 years at 10M staked ETH.

Epoch length: 50, i.e., finality every 50 blocks.

Withdrawal Delay: 50000 epochs, i.e., money will be locked up for about 4 months

Base interest factor: 7e-3. Don't have the formula handy, but the EIP states that this gives about 5% return at 10M staked ETH.

Base penalty factor: 2e-7. If ~50% of validators go offline, then they lose ~half their deposit within 3 weeks. This means the residual validators will then have 2/3s majority and can begin finalizing again.

Min deposit size: 1500 ETH. What we've all been looking for.

Return table & funding time limit (how long the 1M ETH will last)

Deposit Size Annual Interest Funding Crunch
2.5M ETH 10.12% ~4 years
10M ETH 5.00% ~2 years
20M ETH 3.52% ~1.4 years
40M ETH 2.48% ~1 year

As you can see, inflation will depend on the amount of ETH staked.

The community still needs to vote but looks like the 10M ETH staked for 2 years at a 5% interest is the most popular. This would mean approx. 5% annual inflation for ETH with a lock up of 10 million ETH. That's about 10% of the total supply to be staked in Casper contracts.

Once Sharding is implemented the required ETH to stake should drop down from 1500 ETH to 10. Staking pools are already in the works where just 1 ETH can be staked.

EOS dapps will be game changing! Any price predictions for end of 2018?

I am not ruling out $100 EOS and $5000 ETH this year. EOS has an the high performance advantage but ETh has so much adoption. Adoption is going to be everything this year. Consolidation of the winning protocols should emerge.

5,000 eth... maybe 2500. I see EOS at 50-75.

I will be very happy if ETH goes to $3,000. It does seem like EOS would outperform especially in the near term.

@ hedge-x I agree 100% on the idea of holding EOS and gaining from the airdrops it looks like a foolproof strategy get in early before it goes to the moon and get the airdrop rewards.
Hope that ETH also goes to $5000 this year

I will just blow everything away June 1!

I believe many Investors have under estimated it. Now that its in the top 5 its going to be hard to ignore.

Thanks for the update news sir.☺

Very good info. I read about this new Casper news the first time here. Thank you.

But Casper is a hard fork on Ethereum. Imho it's not something that can be done in a few days, weeks or maybe even months. There is still no release Date or any Block number for the Fork.
The news is just, that they have written the program-codes and that this code is ready for review now.
