I was surprised to read a message from Brendan Bloomer earlier today, that suggests the majority of EOS inflation is expected to be used by Collective Benefit Contracts. This, to me sounds like a very interesting development! one which I'm trying to understand, as at almost the same time Dan Larimer's latest blog post on EOS updates and developments mentions "EOS Community Benefit Contract / Worker Proposal allocation" under a heading title "Dynamic Upgrades of Core Features"
I've asked Dan if he could expand on this in a comment posted to his blog which can be found here hopefully he will get time to give an example of what is meant.
From what I can gather thus far, it sounds like the plan is to reward community programs/workers in some form, using the majority of inflation and this will be done via smart contracts.
I hadn't heard of Collective Benefit Contracts before this, it seems like a new development. So I'm posting this as a separate discussion to help get a better understanding of what this development means.
Interesting concept - love to learn more.
