Look at Bancor - was the same. Immiately in the top10 marketcap and now going down to the bottom. I wait till EOS hype is over and is going to bottom too. Then I buy some ;)
More likely EOS crowd sale will raise much more than 1 Billion by the end of the ico. If current price range holds $3-5 ico will raise 3-5 billion, more if price continues to rise.

Stratis is also a smart contract platform as is Ethereum Classic. I think there is much more space for different types of smart contracts than people acknowledge. I think the space is incredibly vast and EOS and a range of current ICOs only represent a small portion of what is to come.
i think it will do much more, it will depend on the updates and progression of eos system. it made half a billion already and we still have the whole year to go... im thinking more 5-10 billion if all goes well as planned.
Haha. For something so far-fetched, it's hard to say that it will. A billion in ICO is quite unlikely (not saying it couldn't happen). Right now its valuation is around 1.5 billion dollars, considering of course, that it would keep growing at the rate that it's going now.
Only 20% of the tokens are to be released right now. If the HYPE continuous to outpace the distribution of tokens, you could see prices going up (Which is what mostly everyone is in for). Now is that likely? I'm not sure bud.
BUT, if this system gains traction faster that zcash or ethereum (meaning partnerships set up, any necessary infrastructure deployed quickly, early adoption of businesses), we might see prices explode. So at the end of the day, yea, maybe you're right.

People need to realize EOS is not going to be a quick thing. I think many people don't even realize there are no DAPPS yet.
Big innovation gap for this ICO. You basically are betting your money on the developers and people involved.
