I see your point that maybe there's some misinformation around blockchain tech... but there are more benefits to decentralization than just security. I would way rather use these networks than I would VISA or my bank. For example, just being able to see how decentralized a currency is seems like a big plus. I also think @steemmonsters has a pretty good proof of concept.
