I was under the impression it was a way of telling us there was no ICO. But not that it would not be listed. If it won't trade, then I definitely don't get it.

i understood that real people will decide what is popular, so if you can buy tokens, people would not really decide what is popular, big money would. maybe you will be able to just exchange it for eos but not buy. it is not clear.
That could be it, confusing message from them for sure. Hopefully we get some more clarification soon.
