Markets go up, markets go down. I have a certain perspective on this because I showed up on Bitrcointalk in 2014: the height of the altcoin bubble.
Based upon my successes and screwups, I can say: the best approach is to hold on through the downturns. Just hold on and wait. It's hard to do so while rising huge losses, but look at 2014-2016 if you despair & think of panic selling.
Anyone who bought Bitcoin in 2014 regretted it in 2015. Anyone who bought Bitcoin in 2014, held on & didn't sell, is laughing now.
Moral: hold on, and be prepared to wait a few or several years. You'll be glad you did.
Things and times and markets change, with something like 100X growth in onboarding new people in the space daily/weekly but there is wisdom there.
I have a high risk tolerance and used to dealing with numbers in real estate, I think that has helped me a lot along with being a numbers guy, seeing trends and such.
I am growing less and less patient however with the rising spammy Steemit community behaviour LOL.
I am really doing my best with that too.
