It is typically flattering to be acknowledged as a source of inspiration. Not always (depends on what is inspired) but generally.
I have noticed an increasing trend of steem-scepticism. I have heard reasons that make such views understandable - and some reasons - such as the nature of the beginning - are more troubling than others.
