Very nice post, Thank you for this information.***))

so, where does EOS fit in with the other cryptos gaining traction these days? is it an improvement of another, similar coin, or is it solving another problem w/blockchain tech?

To my understanding, it is a platform comparable to ethereum, it's core strengths being an ease in developing dapps with smart contract capabilities and blockchain interoperability.

thanks, is there anything about it that is more efficient in this space than the likes of ETH or other dapp-centric coins?

Is there a difference between a horse and a tesla? A single lane dirt road or a multi lane highway?

Lol. Turns out Dan has a humble side... :-)

i said efficient.. like, is EOS solving a problem or flaw that has been ignored by other similar dapp-centric cryptos? after BTC came around, tons of alt-coins were created to target different potential uses or just to increase speed and security of transactions... or perhaps diff block rewards/total coins in circulation. these are valid questions.. i want to know if this is gonna be a quick pump that we see too often or if there is real value in what seems to be yet another copycat coin..

Hmm - I'm just wonder if we gonna use steem as gas on this highway?

Hahaha... pretty sure it said somewhere in the Telegram there wasn't gonna be a gas cost...

See. That's why I should be on Telegram. But I don't have time. I'm on steemit 24/7.

There is one such thing under development already: Dfinity

Hmm, that does seem like an interesting - and comparable project. Still very technical, though I sense could be significant...

The easier it is the more people will use it.

So much informative post ! thank you so much @rok-sivante !!

Thanks for an awesome overview of the EOS status quo as it can be accessed by the general public ;-)

It might get even more interesting once we see what the world of professional internet marketers will do with EOS as they have integrated it with Gamification, Crowdfunding, Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality.

Ya never know what the Dan/Stan team has up their magical sleeves: https://steemit.com/bitshares/@stan/hollywood-heros

Oooooh... that does sound interesting...

If you have 3 hours I recommend watching Mission 2 : http://consumerreality.services/mission-2/
After that interesting will have a new meaning ;-) I can send you my notes privately if you like.

It almost sounds like EOS is trying to do something similar to LISK. It comes across as EOS becoming a mainchain to help manage and connect other blockchains as side chains. I'm interested to see what Dan comes up with if this is the path of EOS.

I am excited to see what comes from this.

Will be interesting to see how the marketing will be handled.

Dan, your number one is the best.

I'm just starting to wrap my head around how blockchains have so many usages. The future is gonna be nuts

I HIGHLY recommend reading Blockchain Revolution by Don & Alex Tapscott as one of the best sources for a wholistic outlook on the breadth and scope...
