This announcement includes a joint statement from the EOS Mainnet Launch Group (EMLG). Look for at least five Block Producers you trust to have published this statement for it to be considered valid.

The EOS Blockchain is Live!

The Dawn Is Here...

After endless hours of collaborative work with BPs across the globe, the EOS Mainnet is live as of Sunday, June 10th, at 1300 UTC. shEOS is proud to be part of the EOS Mainnet Launch Group.

Watch the recap of the livestream:

This is the live stream of the the official EOS Public Chain Launch where Block Producers did, a final validation and then the chain was opened for transactions, bringing it live to the public.

Mission Accomplished

Over the past year, a global community has united itself under the goal of launching the EOS mainnet.

Today, we are pleased to announce that blocks are flowing, voting is live, and that we have succeeded.

Voting

For the chain to be considered valid, 15% percent of all tokens must stake a vote for a Block Producer Candidate. This process could take hours to days. Remember to be smart and vigilant when it comes to using your EOS private key.

As a group, the EMLG recommends using ‘cleos’, the voting command line tool developed by Block. One, as no other tools have undergone third party security audits at this time.

Individual Block Producers and community members have developed their own voting tools as well, please reach out to Block Producers you trust for a list of the tools they individually approve of.

Why You should vote

The EOS main net will not be activated until 15% of issued tokens (150 million tokens) have been staked to vote, and the first elected Block Producers are acknowledged. What a unique opportunity to participate in choosing the safeguards of the EOS Mainnet!

How to vote:

You have the power! EOS.IO software utilizes a delegated proof of stake governance model. Those who hold tokens on a blockchain adopting the EOS.IO software may select the block producers through a continuous voting system.

Our 12 letter name for voting is sheos21sheos

Block.one does not officially support any of the currently available voting portals. Here are some resources from fellow BPs on how to vote using the command line:

Connecting

To connect to the network please reach out to Block Producers individually for public endpoints.

Onward

This has been an incredible journey for us all and it’s just the beginning. EOS will only be as valuable as what we build on top of it. So let’s build something amazing, together.

Thank you,
EOS Mainnet Launch Group

Hey guys, the biggest concern by the community is they feel entering their private keys into third party software to vote is too risky.

If @dan could endorse some of the most popular tools that would really help speed up the voting for sure.

In place of an official endorsement, the EOS Mainnet Launch Group has a group of volunteer block producers doing audits of voting tools. Those results will be releasing soon!

Excellent, thank you for your response.
