Dan Larimer is leading the project as the CTO. He brought many innovations to the distributed ledger scene with BitShares and Steemit and I believe he will do even more impressive things with EOS.
There are 2 Ways to pick up EOS
- On exchanges like Bitfinex or Kraken.
- Via the EOS ICO windows on Ethereum.
I have opted to pickup and trade EOS on Bitfinex before testing the waters of the ICO windows. There are many strategies to be played during this unique coin offering.
FYI US Residents
For Block One's protection, US citizens and residents are not supposed to participate, although many will by using VPNs. (can we abolish governments already?)
Bitfinex is allowing EOS trading for US residents. I tested this as I let them see a US based IP and I could still pick up EOS.
Price
When EOS first dropped on the exchanges we saw the price around $1.
The price has since come close to $5 and returned to $3.
When EOS first dropped on Bitfinex on July 1st:
Any EOS acquired in 2017 is likely to produce insane returns over the next 5-10 years.
I am very excited to watch and participate in the rest of the ICO windows over the course of the year. And I am even more excited for the innovations EOS will bring to market.
*If you do pickup EOS on the exchanges, you will need to make sure you have extracted your tokens to an Ethereum wallet in which you hold the private keys, before the real EOS token release next year. good information in this post, i think EOS has a lot of potential, but don't buy right now, wait till it crashes a bit more, i could see this coin at 100$ in 3-4 years!

I tried to buy through the ICO but was blocked since I have an American ISP. Not registered on bitfenex . Might have too though. I am invested in nxt and ardor. I think etherum is over rated.

I have EOS tokens on Bitfinex. Does extract mean transfer? If so does that mean I can transfer the EOS tokens to my MEW ethereum public address?
