RE: Coindesk Libels Dan Larimer

in #eos7 years ago

I stopped reading Coindesk after their blatantly shoddy treatment of youtuber Crypt0 after last month's consensus conv in NY; after a minor rights use dispute of footage obtained at their (outrageously priced imo) event, they went to Youtube like a punk in third grade tattling to the teacher to get him blacklisted from live streaming for 3 months. This action allegedly "torpedoed him" broadsides instead of firing a warning shot (google plz).

Incredibly ridiculous & stupid decision by their guy there, considering what a goodwill ambassador for cryptocurrency & blockchain Crypt0 has been, along with his reach. And 3 months in this space is the equivalent of 3 years in brick & mortar meat space & MSM Wall Street coverage. They claimed financial damage over copyright and weren't willing to be civil & work things out according to Crypt0.

Yet now, when the shoe is on the other foot they have no problem going for the jugular to cause other people problems over THEIR intellectual property, seemingly w/o just cause in typical journo shill, dog-in-the-fight fashion. In both cases financial damage seems to have occured. If there is no truth to their claims - as a Steem holder potentially damaged by this, this sounds like they are flirting with a class action libel suit.

Thx for bringing this to our attention. Don't mean to disparage any of the other good folks working at coindesk - but the bad actors seem to be racking up at a fast pace at an outlet I use to rely on.
