The EOS distribution scheme is still very much different than regular ICOs. Developing software takes time and that is no different for EOS I guess. I hoped the price would drop some more now that the ICO period has advanced quite a bit, but indeed prices seem to be kept up to a certain level. My feeling is not that it is suppressed but the other way around: kept up above $1-1.30 level.
But in the long run, that does not matter (and I cannot know whether there is undue influence in the price action; probably free market action).
The most important aspect is that the coin is launched at some point with good quality code behind it.
