Crypto media concurs that Bitcoin is first gen blockchain, ethereum is second gen blockchain, Bitshares & Steemit are third gen blockchain. EOS is being considered as 4th Gen blockchain.
EOS having all the benefits of third gen blockchain is further enhanced by horizontal and vertical parallelism to address the long debate and limitations of scalability.
I have been thinking for long time about which platform I should invest myself to learn the nity gritty of coding. I have now made up my mind to learn EOS.io platform.
Looking at below price chart for apprx one month for EOS - it looks that it will be much less volatile as price discovery will continue for apprx one full year. And it is already ranked number #10 on https://coinmarketcap.com/ - great achievement for any crypto asset ICO.

As @dan is one of the founder of steemit so I feel safe with steemit's future. I hope one day Steemit may be migrated to EOS.io platform to provide necessary and neck-to-neck competition to popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
I will invite your suggestions about how best to approach to learn EOS.io platform.
