Epiphany: How I Somehow Managed to Create My Very First "STEEMIT" Story

in #epiphany8 years ago

This morning, I woke up and read a popular music magazine with an article about a relatively new way of expressing myself through writing. You see, creating words to express my feelings in order to inspire others has been one of my outlets for as long as I can remember.

In college during the early 1990's, while attending a private Catholic University (which will not be named at this time), writing and the arts came ultra natural to me. Stories and term papers seemed to flow from my brain, through my arms and fingers onto my extremely primitive laptop. My dorm sisters, yes my floor was all young women during my first year there, were astounded with how natural I was. Pumping out a ten page paper was simple to me and I could accomplish this in a few hours before it was due with an easy A from the professor (and some disgusting instant coffee).

Long story short, I graduated from there, took some graduate classes, taught English and math to middle school special needs students for 25 years, and have continued to love the art of writing. When the article I read earlier this morning mentioned many terms that were completely foreign to me such as, 'bitpost', 'steem', and 'steem power' to name a few, I did some research online, took the plunge, and here I am to hopefully become a part of this esteemed community. Ideally, I plan to attempt to entertain you, humor you, learn to know some of you, and maybe even teach you some of my life lessons. This has been a true, yet terrifying, pleasure and I enjoyed every minute of the process. I would very much get off on making some of you laugh as well throughout this journey.

Any suggestions or critiques that you may have, please feel free to share. I am just learning and technology can be a challenge for me to say the very least.

Welcome. You got me curious, so I am following and can't wait to read your stories.

Thank you kindly. It was my initial attempt here, as you surmised, and I enjoyed it. You were my first reply. Thank you again!

Hi,
looks like this Rolling Stones article brought a lot of new people here)
Hint - posts with pictures have a tendency to catch more attention.
In fact, any picture would work, don't have to be related to the subject)

Thank you for the link and the advice. I will definitely try pictures! Oh, do I have to cite articles and photos? Any advice on that? Thanks again!

I'm not sure I understand your question rightly.
If you quote something, or use some picture you've found in Internet, of course you should always provide a reference link.
Keep in mind, since you can get rewards for your posts here ( even if it would be just pennies ) it always could be considered to be commercial use of someones content.
So, original content is really preferred here.

Thanks for the valuable insight!
