So, today is my second day attempting to post and get more familiar with Steemit. I tried uploading and pasting an image into my post and get ERROR: Image upload : Unable to contact the server. (in red)
After searching help, going onto Steem.chat, hitting up the Steemsters Union Local 33 on Discord, hit up the Tele, all with no response, I'm out of gas, on a desolate road, walking to the next station 40 miles away. Attainable, but a long way to go.
So far, I've yet to find a place I can get answers quickly, or search for relevant articles to these types of issues, that seem like they would be so common. This being a really simple issue, i wonder if there is possibly an issue with Steemit at the moment, as my internet connection is great, firewall settings are not keeping me from uploading, and when i search help, all i see is a google search that pulls up articles with help in the Steemit articles. I feel like I'm missing out on a forum or updates somewhere with common answers to these simple questions for such a large and strong community.

The error you've got isn't something common, or at least I haven't seen it before.
If you want a cheat solution, switch from Steemit to Steempeak.com, it's a different UI and the images are uploaded to steempeak servers instead of Steemit ones. Their website seems to be more stable.
Both work on the Steem blockchain, so same accounts & same content is visible and your post is seen on both sites.
Thanks for the info. I did have #help in there, but deleted it because 'error' was the main posting word in the hashtags that steemit recognized. dur ta dur. So I will edit again. I really appreciate all that you shared and will give these things a look. I'm on the backscratcher curation trail right now so just getting started and learning how each thing i do affects the other.
