This is the time to bring ourselves into balance, when we are in balance we thrive and move forward. Just as now both day and night are equal all over the world, bringing balance and harmony. Before nature begins to change and transform, moving from the light into the dark.
All around us, things are changing. The fruits and nuts are ripening in the trees and we along with other animals are harvesting natures bounty in preparation for the winter. The temperature has changed, it is cooler now in the morning and at night and the leaves have begun to fall from the trees. The sap in the trees and plants are moving downwards, returning to the roots. Nature is calling out to us, reminding us that we need to begin to journey within also, to plant our seed ideas, in preparation for Spring. Nature is constantly inviting us, calling us back so that we remember our part in the earths natural cycle.
When we answer that call, then we experience harmony within ourselves, we can really feel the connection to the earth, the connection to our true self. We need to be able to balance and reconcile any opposites within our life, be it our feminine and masculine energies, our dark and light sides, the conscious and unconscious aspects of our self. In order to be whole we need to embrace both. It is no coincidence, that I recently answered a question about Light and Darkness, thank you @eco-alex for that. And that those within my tribe knew how important it is to embrace both.
The Autumn Equinox is all about celebrating our whole self, it is all about celebrating the life cycles, celebrating the good and the bad, embracing them so that we are made whole.
It is so important to allow ourselves this time, to feel these changes within ourselves, there is so much unbalance in the world because so many ignore the call of nature, the call to reconnect.
What does this time of year represent for you, how do you feel knowing that the days will now get shorter.
I hear so many say they dislike this time of year, that they prefer to have the heat and the sun, but that keeps us here in our outer world, it stops us from travelling inwards. We need the cold and the dark as it encourages us to rest, to spend time with ourselves and travel inwards. It is within these moments that are connecting with our inner wisdom. taking with us all that we have learnt so far and giving ourselves the time to process, to learn from and create anew. Just like some animals prepare for hibernation , so should we. Now is the time to bring our self into balance, to re integrate, to get ready to travel deep within ourselves. Look to the seasons to guide us, look to the trees and the animals, take note of what they are doing. The animals work on natural instinct, they follow the rhythms of the earth, their way is always in harmony with nature.
When we disconnect , when we fight the seasons, we are running away from our true self. Then we are not in balance, we are not whole. Take this time now to sit with yourself, to listen, to reconnect with your inner self, that is all knowing and all loving. Now is the time to make new plans, to sow new seeds and to hold them within, so that they can be nurtured and made solid, made strong. Use this time to make roots for those visions and plans. As the seasons change, we are given the opportunity for change, for something new, celebrate that.
Now is the time to share our gratitude for the earth and all that it provides for us, this is the end of the harvest, this time now leads us towards rest and renewal. Now is the time to release and let go, so that we can begin this next journey, this journey inwards.
It is always great to celebrate the festivals with friends, to come together and talk about what you have achieved so far this year and discuss what new seeds you wish to plant within yourself, to help you move forward. To talk openly, to share gives these seeds more power, more energy, put those intentions out into the world. Autumn Equinox is all about balance and acceptance, so today make the time to say out loud to yourself " I love and accept myself, just the way I am", it is even better to do this with some friends present, to take the time for everyone to say it. To share in the energy and love that this creates and then to send it out into the world. Always finish with a feast.
Today I will be celebrating the equinox with some friends, we will play music, sing, eat food and dance. This is what life is all about, coming together and celebrating and creating something wonderful, putting our intentions out into the world. And all the while showing gratitude for all that we have. If you do not like to celebrate with others, then take the time to go outside and allow yourself to connect with the earth.
Close your eyes, and allow your feet to sink into the earth,
ground yourself, breathe deep and when you exhale image tiny roots extending from your feet into the soil.
Just as the trees now lose their leaves, allow your worries to fall away.
All that matters is your breath and as you exhale feel those roots go deeper and deeper.
Allow yourself to feel calm, calm and refreshed.
And with your roots, now you can send something down into the earth, now you can give something back,
you can send love, love that reaches all beings that are a part of this earth.
Allow yourself to send and receive that love.
And then open your eyes and carry that smile, carry that love with you xxx

Autumn is the only station that I envy you, my country is tropical, here is always green, but I can not deny the symbolism of this time, September has that strange, melancholy aura. I join the celebration, to follow the cycle, Cheer!

Another beautiful post my friend .. you're appreciation for the natural order is as palpable as it's infectious .. this is always a deeply contemplative time of the year for me .. the calm before the winter storms. In terms of rediscovering our connection to the natural order I thought my below words (taken from a previous post) might be of interest:
Born out of an ignorance regarding the very nature of time itself humanity has constructed a calendar whose very implementation was one of the first steps in our disconnection to natural law, this is sometimes referred to as the error in time. To keep balance with the natural order and cycle of life the calendar should be (roughly) divided into 13 months of 28 days (adding an extra day in the year), this is known as higher time. A higher time calendar would ensure a perfect balance between our body clock and the natural time cycle of the earth. Indeed the modern calendar and concept of time has removed us from the interconnected natural cycle of life. In doing so we have externalised the concept of time and enslaved ourselves to the clock.
To me this is why it's so important to not only recognise the changing of the seasons .. but like you so eloquently display, feel them!
Amen to that my friend! Really enjoyed your thoughts and wisdom here @trucklife-family
thank you so much @perceptualflaws for your feedback and for sharing your wisdom, it is so true how we have been led astray by this idea of time, how from such a young age we are being forced to follow certain times for eating, education, play etc it is the beginning of a life of conformity, slave to the clock indeed xxx
Autumn Equinox followed by the Harvest Moon - these are powerful days! I really loved everything you said here. I haven't got friends around to share this time with but I am tuning in completely and letting this cycle take me where it will. It feels really good.
very powerful days indeed, what is important is to allow ourselves to connect with nature and be part of the natural cycle xxx
very nice sis, hope you had an amazing time in your celebration.
