All of you have heard of sports but have you heard of E-sport? E-sport is a new way of sports that includes gaming, high blood pressure, strategies and countless hours of training.
People have different opinions about everything so do they have about E-sport, some say its not a sport in any way but others will tell you that this is 100% a sport and should be played at the olympics SO is it a sport or no? Depends on how you look at it and at the end you have to decide yourself, in E-sport your brain is working a lot more than in football for an example and E-sport gamers are not fat men who sit at their mom's basement all day, they are usually young talented people who have perfect health and spend a lot of time outside with their friends and family. The Olympic Committee says that E-sport might aswell be considered as a sport because it does have similar aspects that sport has like training,professional state so you can earn money with it, and it does require a lot of skill.
Prize pools in E-Sport go up to millions of dollars. A lot of people say that E-Sport just isn't a sport because well it just isn't in their opinion and nothing more...
VICE even made a documentary about E-Sport that you can watch here
There are tons of E-Sport teams in different games
Most popular E-Sport games are
League of Legends (LoL)
Dota
Counter Strike Global Offensive (CSGO)
LoL and Dota scene is dominated by the Asia but CSGO on the otherhand is played professionaly internationally. There are teams from USA,Brazil,Sweden,Poland,Russia,Norway,Ukraine,France - Even Estonia (Population of 1.3 mil) has a pro player in the csgo scene, his name is Ropz
E-Sport is a great way for young people to find their talent and get good at it, then even earn money with it and maybe even become millionaires. FPS (First Person Shooter) games are usually rated for 16 or higher ages, but no pro player has started their career, most of them started playing these games as 10 year olds or even younger, and a lot of E-Sport players are former sport players, like footballers, tennis players, hockey players and got injured, and switched to E-Sport and thanks to their former sport career they have the "competition blood" in them.
A lot of parents don't want their kids to play games with blood in them or violence in them, but the honest truth in MY OPINION is that your child is not going to grow up as a sick murderer shooting people if he is not mentally sick. Every normal person understands a difference between a video game and real world.
Have fun and thanks for reading my post :-)
Welcome Codey! Glad to see new esports writers here on Steemit. I am an esports writer covering Overwatch and the new Overwatch League that starts in a couple months. It's about to take esports to a whole new level here in the states. I look forward to your future articles. Take care.
@dwelling
Wow! Didn't actually know there were other E-Sport writers here, I am also glad to hear that! OW Seems interesting but I myself, play CSGO and it's quite hard to play 2 games at same time and be "extra" good at them. In Estonia (Where I come from) news have started covering E-Sport a lot more than they used to because a young estonian was playing on a CSGO Major couple weeks ago, at same time we have had a bit of drama with E-Sports, because our govrement doesn't want to let underage players play these FPS games, saying that these games will turn kids to murderers and that stuff, you know :D
I also look foward to Your future articles, have a nice day :-) !
