The Boy Scouts of America will drop "kid" from the name of its mark program for more seasoned young people as it looks to broaden its interest to young ladies, the 108-year-old association said on Wednesday.

Beginning in February 2019, the Boy Scouts program for young men 11 to 17 will be called Scouts BSA.

The name of the general association will remain Boy Scouts of America.
