Oswald Anayo Uruakpa also known as Waldie is an Abuja based Nigerian contemporary Artist.Born in the year 1969,and hails from Oboama Ezimihitte Mbaise local Government Imo state.
Waldie's quest to practice arts led him to opening his studio after secondary school in 1987,he worked there until he got admission in 1991to study fine and applied arts in the prestigious Institute of management and technology ( IMT) Enugu. While at I.M.T. he was exceptional and loved by his colleagues.
From the beginning he practiced realism,but he later developed a style: impressionistic realism ,the unique style he also calls cobweb.
He works mostly using oil paints and sometimes acrylic paints.
He has been a full time studio /professional artist for 31 years (1987 till date).
He has handled numerous commissions which adorn many places In Nigeria and abroad.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions and is a recipient of many awards .
