Not only is it late becuase it is Tuesday, I actually took these pictures several weeks ago meaning to post for #beersaturday, but never got around to it.
About four months ago, I wrote this review for Tasteem.io on Big E's bar and Grill.
More recently, @mrsbozz and I found ourselves back at Big E's and I found myself enjoying this gem of a dark beer.
This is the Monkey Fist Cubano Brown. Although I am not a coffee fan at all, I am a huge fan of dark beers which often have hints of coffee flavor in them.
I have actually never heard of Monkey Fist Brewing Company before, but it isn't surprising that they are based out of Traverse City. There are a lot of new breweries popping up all over in that area.
As you can see, the beer didn't have much of a head which I don't think is that uncommon for darker beers. It had a deep rich flavor and if I didn't have to drive home, I probably would have had several of them.
As you can see from the menu, the alcohol content is only 5% so it was overwhelming. The price of $5.00 isn't that unreasonable either for a craft beer. Looking at the brew list on their webpage, I can see quite a few that I would like to try in the future.
Perhaps one day I will find a restaurant that is doing a tap takeover of Monkey Fist beers and I will get a chance to try some more of them. Either that or if I happen to see a six pack distributed to a local re-seller, I will pick one up.
If you like brown ale's and you get a chance to try this one, I highly recommend it.

Here it would be considered very expensive at $5.00, but I'm glad that it was worth it :)
Very low alcohol content for a dark beer like that, looks very interesting.
Sadly it will probably never make it over to your parts. :(
Too bad I can't just send you some. I wonder what would happen if I did though; Would you get in trouble or would it just get destroyed?
I am not sure how they would handle that. It would probably cost more for the shipping than the actual beer. Plus unless they sell it in cans you risk the bottle getting broken too.

Hmmm... coffee hints... it does sound pretty interesting though! I had a Chocolate beer recently (well, it was cocoa...), now that was weird! It was good, but not something that I would drink a lot of!

I am not usually a fan of a dark beer, but you make it sounds good, I havent had a beer for a couple of years, but I think $5 is pprobably pretty good that wwas pretty much the standard price ofor any beer when I was drinking them
$5 for a craft is pretty normal. If it were a domestic that would be way too much.

I guess things are more expensive here and in NYC, I remember the last craft Beer i had which was in NYC and it was $8

No problem! I usually lean towards lagers myself. If I get in a mood though I will enjoy a good red or dark.
