The best time to pollinate is when the flower crown is perfectly bloomed. Pollination before the flowers bloom less good results, better done when the flowers have bloomed some time (buds start closing) the results are better than powdered before the flowers bloom perfectly.
Be careful when applying pollen to the pistil, do not let the stem stick broken due to movement that is too hard. This will cause the pollination to fail.
For beginners, you should use a clean and dry brush to apply pollen to the pistil. Although it can be done with fingers, but sweaty, wet, or unclean hands can lead to collapse of pollination.
For flower buds facing upwards, after you do pollination should be given kerodong to prevent exposure to rain directly, although many are not dikerodong, pollination still succeed.
Pollen can be used to apply on other flower sticks, usually done for the crossing of two types of dragon fruit.
