[Free write] Too much celebration

Public holiday? Yes that's what I'm talking about, it's been way too many especially in this multiracial country. First of all, Chinese and Indian actually share the same lunar calendar, which means majority of the Indian celebration, the Chinese go together.

Those are just traditional celebration involving our race, but due to religion involving different race, even the Chinese celebrate Buddhist celebration with the Indians. And therefore, during these Chinese holiday, the Indians are busy celebrating too.

At this moment, the Muslims is having their holy Ramadan month of fasting. Yesterday was wesak day of the Buddhism celebration, today we all have a replacement holiday. Tomorrow Tuesday go back to work, and Wednesday is Quran day. Wait a minute, what does it have to do with the Chinese and the Indians? Well, it's a multi racial country. When 60% of the population went holiday, the official department will not function 😂

My country, is simple amazing. I don't know how the employer can survive paying 12 months salary to the employee, and having them work for only 11months. That haven't come to their individual underperformed sick leave, annual leave, companionate leave, family day off. With everything added up, I guess there goes another month no need to work.

Worst of all, this country practice contractual bonus. Which means, when someone work for the employer for a year full term, they usually entitle one month salary as bonus. Technically, now the boss is paying 13 months of salary for a potential of 10 months working employee 🤣🤣🤣

Welcome to Malaysia. Sometimes I find myself sitting here took pity of my employer they had to pay for what not they get. At times, I felt worry if I'm gonna get fired due to underperformance. But hey, I'm not alone. This country is just being overly "comfortable". Which country celebrate 4 times new year? We do. 😂
