Hi best friends!!!
In the afternoon during my visit to one of the Aceh provinces, precisely in one of the small cities known as Lhokseumawe, is one of the cities located by the coast. If you enter the Banda Sakti District area you will meet one of the small tourist attractions, namely Pusong Reservoir.
The location of the Pusong reservoir is vast but before you enter the area, the first thing you encounter is a mangrove tree that grows in a row and is dense in the reservoir from the south side.
According to the information of the people who live in the village of Pusong area, the mangrove tree that has grown big has been around for decades or even more.
The origin of the tree is based on initial planting by one of the occupants who occupy the reservoir as a small house or community in an area called Jambo Uebeut, so that when he occupies the area salt water is planted with mangrove trees brought from an area and then planted with dams in the end the tree thrives and overflow in Pusong Reservoir.
Around the 90s the local community worked together in order to control the mangrove plants in an orderly form so that at that time many mangrove trees looked very beautiful by growing neatly on each edge of the reservoir.
To this day until this post is written the tree is still growing neatly and lined up in the edge of the reservoir in. However, there is a prohibition for every citizen to cut it because the village leaders in the area consider the mangrove tree as a tree that helps a lot in this life, if the community wants to have it, then they must ask permission from related parties so that the deduction is good and orderly.
According to local residents, they say that there are many benefits from these plants, the benefits have also been felt by every resident who lives around the area.
The benefits they receive in the form of the emergence of saltwater fish who love the tree so much that they turn their roots into nests, with lots of saltwater fish available in the area, the small fishermen get extraordinary benefits in making a living in the form of catching fish.
Then if there is a wave of sea water that overflows when the tide is accompanied by strong currents during high tide and recedes, the mangrove tree can survive so strongly that the houses of people behind the mangroves will be safe from the waves.
Likewise with strong winds when there is a wind from the west, the houses behind the mangroves will feel safe because the tall and strong plants are able to withstand the wind.
Likewise other things that occur in nature around the reservoir, all of which are sourced from mangrove trees. So the occupants and leaders forbid the occupants from cutting down the tree. Because animals and all kinds of birds are found in nesting reservoirs in mangrove forests.
Thus this year's short expedition visited the region of Aceh which contains a variety of uniqueness and I personally like to see the country. Thanks.
