I am pleased to announce Steem Monitormobile application for Steem witnesses, users, geeks. Idea is to have simple app for monitoring Steem Blockchain. Initial thought was to create app for witnesses to get push notification when they miss any blocks. But @jesta mentioned that it is small audience for the app, so I thought not only witnesses can/want to monitor Steem blockchain but average users, whales, new users can make use of app. So welcome birth of Steem Monitor... :-)
I am using app for couple days now and I can say that notifications about block misses working, today received 2 notifications when @jesta node fail-over switched (missed 2 blocks) and @curie node for not sure what reason but missed 2 blocks as well.
So this app will have following features:
Features
- Status of the Steem network
- Price ticker for Steem and SBD prices
- Possible market charts
- Top 70 Witness list where anyone can enable to receive notification for any witness. This way when you or your fellow witness friends miss block you can notify them or if they have app themselves they can get notified to update their witness data.
- Ability to change connection websocket
- Ability to enable notification when participation is less than 75%, thanks @abit for confirming/clarifying that.
- Note: This is monitoring app only, which doesn't require any user credentials. Only info required is that push notification uses random generated device token for sending notifications.

Now I think of it, wouldn't it be better to have queue list of witnesses for generating blocks? I think that would give you idea when you are in queue and if you miss you get notified if not meaning you produced the block...
Yes, similarly, for miner-witnesses, there is the miner-witness queue, but for witnesses, you'll have to figure out fields like virtual_last_update, virtual_position, and virtual_scheduled_time. The witness scheduling algorithm is somewhat complex and semi-random. But you'll figure it out!
